I have been asked by lots of parents - What sort of Apps do you use for learning in the classroom?
I thought I could best answer that questions here with a list of the apps we use.
But first, before you let your child use your ipad, ipod or iphone consider setting the restrictions.
Under settings, general, restrictions look at the changed content. Your device will be automatically set up for explicit music and podcasts, R18 movies, adult TV shows and book with explicit content.
Before a device is used in school we set all these up to more appropriate settings. The only settings we leave at "allow all" is apps. Otherwise Google Chrome would not work on our devices.
To ensure the children so not access inappropriate apps we disable installing and deleting apps (also under restrictions) and we turn in-app purchases off.
Although we try to use free apps most of the time, some of the ones we use are paid apps. We trialled a number of different apps last year and had to make a decision about which ones to use. This is what we came up with. These apps cover the whole school, children and teachers. I have highlighted yellow the ones I use most with my Year 2 class.
